Red Rooster Laser Arts Founder: From Navy Mechanic to Creative Maker: A Birthday Spotlight on Our Founder

May is a beautiful month—and not just because the flowers are blooming and the birds are singing. It also happens to be my birthday month. This year, we’re celebrating a little extra here at Red Rooster Laser Arts with some product sales. We are also sharing the inspiring story about the Red Rooster Laser Arts founder.

For those who don’t know me yet, I’m the proud owner of Red Rooster Laser Arts—veteran, momma hen, and laser-loving fabric fanatic. As the founder of Red Rooster Laser Arts, my journey has taken some unexpected turns. I wouldn’t change a thing. After serving in the U.S. Navy as an airframes mechanic, I transitioned into a career as a therapist for the VA. There, I had the honor of supporting veterans through readjustment counseling. This included trauma work with combat and sexual assault survivors.

But creativity kept calling. In 2016, I followed my passion and opened Red Rooster Laser Arts. The name? That came from my years raising and breeding chickens. For a long time, you could always hear a rooster crowing in the background while I worked—sometimes more than one! While we don’t currently have a flock, I still love those quirky birds and hope to have chickens again in the future. If you know me, I am a momma hen and will probably always embrace that role.

What started as a way to precision-cut fabric for quilters has grown into a full-fledged laser studio. Today, we still cater to our quilting community—because fabric is our first love. We’ve expanded into personalized gifts, custom promo items, and DIY craft kits. These items spark joy and creativity and are crafted by a dedicated team inspired by the Red Rooster Laser Arts founder.

Every piece that leaves our shop is made with heart, hustle, and a whole lotta rooster grit. Whether it’s a Block of the Month kit that saves your rotary cutter (and maybe your rotator cuff), a tumbler engraved with your business logo, or a door hanger you painted with your bestie.
