Blade is 3” Damascus Steel which is a combination of 4340 Alloy Steel and 1095 Carbon Steel with 256 layers/folds giving it its unique swirl pattern.  Blade is 54-60 on the Rockwell Scale.  After cleaning and drying this knife, it is advisable to coat the entire knife with food-grade oil such as mineral oil to protect it from moisture and keep the blade rust­ free
